Full Episode: Moroccan Influences, Feng Shui Flow & Delicious Cooking Demonstrations | Open House TV

Kicking things off from inside a sumptuous 3564 sq. ft. duplex penthouse in Nomad (50 Madison Ave, PH). that’s perched above Madison Square Park and features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and furnishings once owned by Gianni Versace, Open House host Sara Gore takes viewers on a tour of several stunning homes in New York City and California.

We venture over to the Flatiron district to join Michael Graves for a tour of 240 Park Ave S, PH17 — a stylish 3,900 sq. ft. penthouse that features 3 beds and 3.5 baths. This downtown dream home is glamorous, dramatic, and sexy with its ample space and natural light. Along with a private keyed elevator entrance, this bespoke residence boasts hand-applied plaster walls, a great room that includes living, dining, and a gorgeous bar area (complete with 12.5 ft. ceilings, Italian porcelain floors, custom frieze molding overhead with recessed cove lighting, and a limestone fireplace that makes for quite the focal point), a sleek kitchen, and stunning views of Gramercy Park, the Chrysler and Empire State buildings.

After that, we fly over to Los Angeles, California to join Spencer Daley for a look around 4715 Los Feliz Blvd — a jaw-dropping 10050 sq. ft. estate that’s a loving homage to a Moroccan riad and features 6 beds and 7 baths. Next: we meet up with Becky Lin — chef, restaurateur, and owner of Lin & Daughters located in the West Village — for a tour of both her business and beautiful home. In regard to her home, Lin, whose biggest passions in life are cooking and design, opted for a cozy, functional aesthetic (to accommodate her two small children) with lots of feng shui-inspired flow, natural materials (e.g. the carpet features a tree motif, the mantle is made of wood, and the floor lamp is made of bamboo), and loving nods to her Chinese culture (such as a money plant on the mantle). Along with a look around the whimsical pink bedrooms for her young daughter (featuring bunk beds and adorable hot air ballroom wallpaper) and a primary suite with a serene minimalist layout, Lin invites viewers into her open-and-modern kitchen for a scallion pancake and wonton & chili oil cooking demonstration. After this, we join her for a look around her restaurant, which serves Chinese comfort food featuring her family’s recipes and is within walking distance of her home.

Our final tour of this episode is at none other than the home of Caren Rideau — author, vintner, and founder of The Kitchen Design Group — in Los Angeles, California. Full Episode: Sophistication Meets Creativity in Five Exquisite Homes | Open House TV

Open House host Sara Gore kicks off this week’s episode in a bright & airy triplex penthouse (610 Park Ave, PH16E) on the Upper East Side. From the gallery-esque foyer to the well-defined living and dining areas with custom millwork and marble wood-burning fireplace, this 6-bedroom 7643 sq.ft. home — complete with 6 baths and a half bath — epitomizes Park Avenue luxury, craftsmanship, sophistication.

Next up: we join interior designer Alexander Doherty in the West Village for a tour of his latest project, in which he took a modern white box given to him by the developer and transforming it into an elegant home full of warmth and personable touches. This duplex apartment features a staircase with accentuated curvatures that contrasts the overall grid-like layout, main entertainment space with strong saturated colors and ample seating areas, remodeled kitchen/dining area that fuses refined polished upgrades with modern amenities, and primary bedroom that plays up a moody gray, mauve, and lavender palette to evoke a feeling of serenity.

Right after, we travel to Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles to join film producer Heidi Jo Markel for a look around her gorgeous residence at 1884 Lauren Canyon Blvd. This 6-bedroom/5-bath 4,888 sq. ft. home is a completely custom, modern take on Hollywood glamour, as well as a celebration of indoor/outdoor living every step of the way with the juxtaposition between the natural environment and the city. From the homage to art decor and cantilevered lounging areas to the amazing open-floor plan that’s perfect for entertaining guests to the private screening room that serves as both a space for working and unwinding with a good movie, this home is as relaxing as it is stunning.

We then fly back to the East Coast to join Soman Chainani, author of the bestselling fantasy series ‘The School for Good and Evil’ — for a tour of his sunny Upper West Side abode, in which he resides in with his adorable French bulldog Douggie. During this enlightening segment, he walks us through each step of his writing process at home and invites viewers to take a closer look at his creative station, cozy zone consisting of soft blankets that are great for decompressing (“an antidote to the hardness of New York City outside”), ample bookshelves full of engrossing reads, and unique trinkets he’s picked up from fan, movie sets, and his travels around the world.

After, we visit the intimate Soho loft of 212 Box architectural designer Eric Clough, who has always been passionate about detailing and the way materials come together. From the use of vibrant and textured furniture fabrics in the living room to the dining room with its extraordinary marble table and custom millwork, to the corner reading nook and the modern communal kitchen with the large island ideal for gatherings, this comfortable and cohesive living space is full of unique and personable details and serves as a showcase for clients and beautiful home to entertain guests with beautiful dinners.

To round off this episode, we join artist Harlan Brandon at his lovely house in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn that combines classic architecture, including the original moldings and fireplace, with his one-of-a-kind artwork and stylish furnishings that include heirlooms and pieces from Ralph Lauren Home. This Gilded Age brownstone, built in 1910, fuses traditional fixtures and details with contemporary conveniences, starting with the etched glass windows in the foyer and the light structure that went being gas to electric. “That whole transition of time is something that we are very conscious of throughout the house: the element of time and the use of time,” Brandon explains. Every room in this home features a design that tells a story and offers the family the opportunity to relax, entertain, and create.

Full Episode: Design Meets Art in 5 Stunning Homes in NYC, LA, and Palm Springs | Open House TV

Full Episode: Design Meets Art in 5 Stunning Homes in NYC, LA, and Palm Springs | Open House TV

Join Open House host Sara Gore for a tour of several timeless yet contemporary homes. We kick off the episode from within 240 Park Ave S, PH17: a brand new 3900 sq. ft. penthouse in the Flatiron District that decked out with three bedrooms, Italian porcelain floors, high ceilings, a gas fireplace, a sleek kitchen, and an abundance of natural light.

We then venture over to The Astor, a historic building on the Upper West Side, to join Andrew Bowen, principle of Ash Staging for a look around 235 W 75th St, #402. This expansive 3200 sq. ft. pre-war residence features a lot of the bones of a NYC classic with a lot of modern upgrades, including the defining near-black corridor — with its white-oak floors that feature a herringbone pattern with inlay throughout and its classic architectural moldings — which serves as an artery throughout the home by creating a moody experience; adds drama and mystery when you open each door and are greeted by bright, well-lit rooms. From the contrasting colors and large sectional in the den to the ante room that features a circular console table and contemporary mirror — and the primary suite with its impressive bay window and seating nook to the main entertaining space that incorporates art that complements the curved furniture in a free-flowing layout — this home embodies balance, design, and functionality. As Bowen best describes it: “an oasis of modern luxury.”

Next: we fly over to the West Coast to join designer and stage Meridith Baer at 1772 N Crescent Heights Blvd. Los Angeles, just above the Sunset Strip. This 6-bedroom, 7-bath 9000 sq. ft. sumptuous home — complete with a primary bedroom that features a rooftop patio, wet bar, and fire pit — is evokes a cozy despite its modern, industrial, organic vibe. From the living room with its handwoven rugs, rounded furniture, and light fixtures stuck in the wall that add to the eclectic & unexpected nature of the space, to the gorgeous, contemporary kitchen and its playful touches, to the dining area with a free-floating chandelier, live-edge wood, and floor-to-ceiling doors that lead out to a pool and unobstructed views of the Hollywood Hills for miles, this luxurious residence is truly state-of-the-art.

After that, we join Andrew Heid, founder of No Architecture, in the West Village for a tour of a jaw-dropping home dubbed “The Urban Treehouse.” Heid and his team transformed the space from two modernist white box apartments into one large open home configured as a 2-bedroom that boasts warmth, natural light, an organic palette of natural, muted materials. From the practical functionality (where even every door offers storage or an opportunity to create a private enclosure at night) to the compressed pantry area that opens into the “wow factor” — a main, double-height living space, filled with 24-ft glass windows that look out right into the New York landscape, that offers dramatic scale and two defining treehouse areas for dining and relaxing. With their light, interactive structure and transparent nets, as well as the large concrete, fiber-reinforced planters that create a relationship between the trees outside versus the indoor ones, these treehouses serve as giant, dynamic pieces of furniture and are perfect for entertaining and enjoying breathtaking views of NYC. This dream project embodies, as Heid best puts it, “the spiritual harmony between architecture and nature.”

Next up: We join agent Cathy Taub on the Upper West Side for a peek inside a terrace penthouse on the Upper West Side in a building designed by architect William Boring. Not only is it spacious, it features its own landing, a wrap terrace with distinctive landmark architectural touches, a primary suite with a spa-like bathroom, and a great room with a marble-clad gas fireplace, tray ceiling with perimeter lighting throughout, and floor-to-ceiling French doors. As for the bonus element? A SECOND private rooftop terrace with multiple seating areas perfect for hosting guests and sweeping views of the city.

Last, we join interior designer Bradley Bayou in Palm Springs for a full tour of his unique home (originally owned by Bob Hope) that he bought over two decades ago. It was in great disrepair when he first purchased it, but he completely transformed it into a personable, welcoming space — complete with sentimental touches, pieces from his own collection and great finds from local businesses, colors inspired by the natural beauty outside, and a lounge area with a pool — that captures the essence of comfortable and serene desert living.

Full Episode: A Bel Air Mansion, Upper West Side Duplex & Gilded Age NYC Apartment | Open House TV

Open House host Sara Gore kicks off the latest installment inside a sleek, sky-high apartment in the heart of Midtown. And that’s just the tip of this week’s impressive homes!

We then venture to the Upper East Side to join Brian Lewis for a tour of 17 E 92nd St. This 5586 sq. ft Gilded Age townhouse, with 6 bedroom and 3.5 baths, is filled with classic details such as original moldings and woodwork, a Juliet balcony, renovated garden level (with two entrances, bonus dining & living rooms, private backyard, and a renovated kitchen with a dining bar), as well as a stately parlor floor that leads into a gorgeous living room. With its rich Carnegie Hill history and top-of-the-line finishes, it is a timeless slice of old New York with modern conveniences.

After that, we head to the West Coast to join Sally Forster Jones for a tour of 1859 Bel Air Road. This high-end estate (built on approximately 1.3 acres of land) features a contemporary design and impeccable attention to detail. It boasts 20000 sq. ft of unique amenities, including a custom wine lounge (featuring a custom glass cellar), private movie theater, sleek bar with interesting lines and curvature, and a spa-inspired bathroom with dual vanities. With its gorgeous ocean views (including of Catalina Island), infinity pool, grand spiral staircase, spacious primary suite filled with natural light, free-flowing main level that connects the veranda to the formal living room, and impeccable attention to detail, this massive tri-level Los Angeles mansion is a true entertainer’s paradise and epitome of Southern California luxury living.

We then jet back to the East Coast to visit 165 Charles Street, Unit 21 with Spencer Means. This West Village 3-bedroom apartment, located on the 10th floor of a glass building designed by architect Richard Meir, is waterfront living at its best and features a sleek & functional open kitchen with white matte lacquer cabinetry, a vast gallery that leads into a dramatic living room with a 30-ft terrace, and a primary suite with 2 walk-in closets, spa-like bath, and plenty of natural light. Additionally, it features over 2500 sq. ft. of luxury living space, 11 ft. ceilings, Wenge African hardwood floors, and vast windows with iconic, unobstructed 360° views of the Hudson River. As Means best puts it, “It is a home designed for entertaining, inside and out.”

Up next: interior designer Vanessa DeLeon introduces viewers to a duplex she designed for empty-nester clients on the Upper West Side, who decided to upsize their living situation by purchasing the apartment above them and combine it with their current one after their kids went off to college. This was a full gut renovation that began with establishing a color palette that was inspired by DeLeon’s client’s travels, and ensures continuity and sentimental touches throughout the home. The finished project, designed with an open-concept floor plan in mind, includes lucite chairs featuring the couple’s favorite song lyrics printed on the back, a staircase with light fixtures her clients bought in Paris and show-stopping wallpaper that matches the rest of the apartment; a dining room with a bleached table and linear & translucent chandelier that delineates the space; a kitchen with light blue cabinetry, as well as a large island with a stunning countertop and backsplash; a living room with two round sofas that flank the fireplace (which incorporates the same material used in the kitchen); and an active lounge that’s perfect for watching a movie, playing games, or enjoying a snack. In essence, this home exudes “comfort, design and functionality”.

Finally, we drop by New York City’s Flower District to visit interior designer Drew McGukin. No stranger to taking risks, McGukin’s live/work Chelsea loft is a tribute to his unique aesthetic and penchant for embracing color. His home features an office space with bright light, fun pops of taxi-cab yellow and a cork wall perfect for client presentations; open bookcases that serve as dividers between the work and living areas; a dining room that transitions into the kitchen with a bar cabinet as an anchor; a bedroom with a large skylight, walk-in closet, and abstract wallpaper featuring patterns that originate from an actual painting; and a living room that includes a mash-up of his favorite client moments, vintage pieces that add an element of timelessness to the space, and one-of-a-kind Aboriginal artwork and classic photographs. Overall, the goal was to create a warm, creative home that would be enjoyed by guests and residents, alike.
