Inside 5 Ultra Chic Homes with One-of-a-Kind Details | Open House TV

Welcome to another edition of Open House! In this episode, our lovely host Sara Gore guides us through several tours of gorgeous homes in New York City and Los Angeles that are full of style, natural light, and one-of-a-kind details.

First up, we drop by the West Village to visit 652 Hudson Street, 5S/6S New York, NY for a tour, led by Julianne Bond, of a reimagined 6,151 sq. ft. triplex penthouse that features 3 beds/3baths/2 half baths — along with 31 large windows, a wood-burning fireplace, and its own roof deck with views of downtown NYC — and is currently listed on the market for a cool $14,950,000.

After that, we fly over to the West Coast to visit the impressive private residence of Scottish-born, LA-residing television presenter Ross King that offers direct views of the iconic Hollywood sign, and features personal details and “bits of home” throughout, including: a studio for his televised segments and voiceover work, a cozy cuddle chair section inspired by a James Bond movie along with a Jackie Collins sofa, memorabilia and photos of people he’s interviewed and met throughout his career, and thistle (an emblem of Scotland) upon entry.

Next, we venture over to Santa Monica, California to 175 W Channel Road, for a tour of owner, designer, and entrepreneur LeeAnn Sauter’s home. This Mediterranean-style estate boasts 3,664 square feet, 5 beds, and 3.5 baths, and is full of charm and personalized details throughout its chic interiors, reflecting a life of travel and adventure. Oh, and fun fact? It was originally built in 1925 for Hollywood legend Mae West. The home’s unique history and authentic flow is best captured in “The Great Gatsby” room, which embodies the glamorous essence of the Jazz Age. In this room, Sauter kept everything original from the beautiful window to the wood floors to the hand-painted wallpaper to the chandelier with the chains draping over a lucite table.

We then return to New York City to meet up with Sarah Abdallah, founder and CEO of Functional Creative Design for a look around her latest impressive project: a pied-à-terre on the Upper East Side that she designed for a client seeking a luxurious retreat to escape to. Tasked with creating a space that felt like “the dreamiest suite at a boutique hotel,” Abdallah focused on materials and soft textures that allow for easy entertaining and inspire a sense of tranquility and balance.

To round off this installment, we explore the vibrant Hell’s Kitchen townhouse of interior designer Karim Rashid. Rashid is as well known for his luminous style as he is for the impassioned belief that dynamic design can make you happier – and in turn make the world a better place — and his home, with its rounded, amorphous artwork, fluid patterns, and colorful dimensions, is a direct reflection of his personal philosophy.
