A Light-Filled Nolita Loft Designed by Vicente Wolf | Open House TV

A Light-Filled Nolita Loft Designed by Vicente Wolf | Open House TV

Join interior designer Vicente Wolf for a special tour of one of his latest projects: a welcoming space in Nolita that embodies an aura of warmth and softness. Wolf enjoys environments that provide a progress of discovery; and from the long hallway at the front that leads into a cohesive open-floor setting, this downtown home captures this design philosophy to a t. Not only is the dining area — which features two tables on wheels that separate for large parties — stunning and efficient, but the adjoining sections of this large space (including a living room that showcases a mixture of midcentury pieces, irregular shapes, custom designs, and curved couch that allows for guests to see each other while sitting) are just as remarkable. This loft also boasts a dream library, cocoon-like media room where unwinding in peace and isolation is the focal point, an impressive bathroom with recessed lights and lacquered ceilings that add a sense of drama and reflection, and a primary bedroom that is both classy and flirtatious with its strip lighting and electrical blinds that allow its residents to have ultimate control of how much natural light pours into their bedroom. Overall, this spacious, well-lit, and oh-so detailed home provides a modern aesthetic with a vintage touch!

A Tour of Architect Marc Balet’s 3-Story Loft & Creative Studio in NoHo | Open House TV

A Tour of Architect Marc Balet's 3-Story Loft & Creative Studio in NoHo | Open House TV

Venture over to NoHo to visit the live/work loft of artist, art director, and award-winning architect Marc Balet. According to Balet, “good design” is all about simplicity and being authentic, and his 3,000 sq. ft. triplex residence & studio certainly embody this philosophy. From the long corridor near the entrance that houses pictures gifted by famous photographers (such as his former boss Andy Warhol), as well as personal ones of himself with close friend Paul Reubens — aka PeeWee Herman — and Carol Channing, to his own original creations, this downtown home — which used to be the site of many legendary parties — displays a passion for art, drama, and personal expression. With its 20-ft ceilings, large windows adorned with movie curtains, custom furniture designed by Balet himself (including a magnificent dining table that sits right below a show-stopping Sputnik light), three lava lamps gifted by Reubens, a well-lit top floor that exhibits serenity and relaxation with its backyard (that features a hot outdoor shower) and terrace that overlooks Broadway and Houston St, a Malibu beach house-inspired bedroom, and enviable book collection that would make the most voracious reader’s heart flutter with glee at the mere sight of it, this NYC apartment has been a source of great conversations and joy, and teems with unique treasures, unbeatable memories, and one-of-a-kind touches.

Full Episode: Renovated Classic Homes & Ultra-Modern Showstoppers | Open House TV

Sara Gore is back with another episode of Open House filled with stunning homes in New York City, Los Angeles, and Denver!

We kick things off with Brian Lewis at 123 West 132nd Street for a tour of a newly renovated historic brownstone located in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood. Built in 1910, this 5-bedroom home, situated in the vibrant area of Lenox Terrance, has since been re-envisioned in ways that have implemented modern conveniences to make it livable in the 21st century while also preserving its original details, stunning craftsmanship, and classic DNA — including keeping the antique front door to moving the kitchen (with its room marble countertops, dining bar, top-end fixtures trophy appliances, and gorgeous walnut cabinets) to the middle of the space to make the most of the natural light that streams in from the open-plan dining area. From the herringbone wood plank floors to the soaring tall ceilings to the new copper plumbing, and from the jaw-dropping, well-scaled primary suite (complete with a massive pass-through closet, decorative fireplace, dual-sinked bathroom, and treetop views) to the multiple guest rooms to the serene private garden right outside, this townhouse embodies beauty and seamlessly dovetails the past with the present.

Next, we fly over to the Mile High City, where Kenzie Robertson takes us on a tour of a home at 400 Saint Paul Street in Denver, Colorado, located within the highly desired Cherry Creek North neighborhood. Previously known as Harmon Town Hall, this 4-story house was constructed in 1891 and has since been converted into a mayor’s office, courthouse, and, ultimately, a show-stopping private residence filled with intricate details and modern upgrades. From the gorgeous entryway filled with natural light to the floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the 13,656 sq. ft. property that peer into a serene courtyard — and from the spacious primary suite complete with a sitting room office, luxurious bathroom, and adjoining terrace to the classic library designed as an homage to the Gilded Age with its reclaimed wood beams and vintages maps plastered on the ceiling (not to mention the home theater, full gym and custom landscaped rooftop terrace on the top floor, and sleek speakeasy carved into the underground garage) — this 4-bedroom, 8-bathroom red-bricked residence is truly a one-of-a-kind historical landmark with thoughtful renovations and upscale entertaining amenities.

After that, we head over to downtown NYC to join Jennifer Kalish for a tour of a stylish and comfortable Tribeca loft perched on a historic cobblestone street. This full-floor, south-facing apartment — reimagined by designer Shawn Henderson — has 4 bedrooms and close to 3,000 sq. ft. of boutique living. From the private entryway that you step into right off the elevator to a grand entertaining space with a clean-burning fireplace with a steel facade and a wall of Channel Vision glass windows that fill the room with natural light and offer beautiful views of the architecture outside of 15 Leonard Street Apt. 6, and from the chef’s kitchen complete with custom Italian matte white lacquer mixed with stained oak wood cabinetry (as well as top-end appliances) to the adjoining dining room that is ideal for intimate dinner gatherings, no detail has been spared in this meticulously designed home.

Care for a look around a home located at 1033 Somera Road in the prestigious Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles? Join the property’s developer, Ramtin Ray Nosrati, for a look around a decadent space surrounded by nature — which includes a lush living wall of fauna that adorns the private driveway, as well as a massive artwork of moss (that has been stained with organic fruit dye) that greets visitors in the foyer. Other highlights include: glass walls and automated floor-to-ceiling glass doors; a wraparound balcony with an L-shape fire pit and views of of the Pacific Ocean; a sprawling primary bath that features custom imported stone; an open-floor living room comprised of wide oak wood, a sleek fireplace clad in travertine, an exquisite wine cellar, and hand-carved stone bar; a dining room that peers into the spacious backyard; a state-of-the-art kitchen that serves as the heart of the home; an infinity-edge pool with a hot tub; and a nearly 3,200-square-foot roof deck equipped with an outdoor kitchen, 16-ft fireplace, entertainment viewing area, and 4-hole putting green. With its panoramic views of the city and ocean and 13,929 square feet of interior space, this 6-bedroom, 7-bathroom ultra-contemporary residence is filled with upscale amenities, imaginative architecture, and intricate design details.

Full Episode: Moroccan Influences, Feng Shui Flow & Delicious Cooking Demonstrations | Open House TV

Kicking things off from inside a sumptuous 3564 sq. ft. duplex penthouse in Nomad (50 Madison Ave, PH). that’s perched above Madison Square Park and features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and furnishings once owned by Gianni Versace, Open House host Sara Gore takes viewers on a tour of several stunning homes in New York City and California.

We venture over to the Flatiron district to join Michael Graves for a tour of 240 Park Ave S, PH17 — a stylish 3,900 sq. ft. penthouse that features 3 beds and 3.5 baths. This downtown dream home is glamorous, dramatic, and sexy with its ample space and natural light. Along with a private keyed elevator entrance, this bespoke residence boasts hand-applied plaster walls, a great room that includes living, dining, and a gorgeous bar area (complete with 12.5 ft. ceilings, Italian porcelain floors, custom frieze molding overhead with recessed cove lighting, and a limestone fireplace that makes for quite the focal point), a sleek kitchen, and stunning views of Gramercy Park, the Chrysler and Empire State buildings.

After that, we fly over to Los Angeles, California to join Spencer Daley for a look around 4715 Los Feliz Blvd — a jaw-dropping 10050 sq. ft. estate that’s a loving homage to a Moroccan riad and features 6 beds and 7 baths. Owned by renowned fashion designer Sue Wong, this newly transformed kasbah was inspired by Wong’s travels through the vibrant regions of Marrakesh and Fes, along with the craftsmanship of its local artisans. Along with intricately carved wooden arches that serve as a motif leading you into most rooms, this house includes: a ballroom-style living room with ceilings hand-painted by Moroccan artists, a massive crimson-and-gold primary suite that almost feels like a visual voyage through a Moroccan citadel with its four separate rooms; a formal dining area; gardens with tile fountains lead to the grand main entry door; and an entertaining room complete with a massive wood table, dramatic light fixtures, custom brass doors, velvet corner couch, and stunning mosaic tilework.

Next: we meet up with Becky Lin — chef, restaurateur, and owner of Lin & Daughters located in the West Village — for a tour of both her business and beautiful home. In regard to her home, Lin, whose biggest passions in life are cooking and design, opted for a cozy, functional aesthetic (to accommodate her two small children) with lots of feng shui-inspired flow, natural materials (e.g. the carpet features a tree motif, the mantle is made of wood, and the floor lamp is made of bamboo), and loving nods to her Chinese culture (such as a money plant on the mantle). Along with a look around the whimsical pink bedrooms for her young daughter (featuring bunk beds and adorable hot air ballroom wallpaper) and a primary suite with a serene minimalist layout, Lin invites viewers into her open-and-modern kitchen for a scallion pancake and wonton & chili oil cooking demonstration. After this, we join her for a look around her restaurant, which serves Chinese comfort food featuring her family’s recipes and is within walking distance of her home.

Our final tour of this episode is at none other than the home of Caren Rideau — author, vintner, and founder of The Kitchen Design Group — in Los Angeles, California. This colorful bungalow, which is a rich and vivacious embodiment of her favorite travel memories, love of entertaining, and whimsical “joie de vivre” approach to culinary design, features a living room influenced by her travels (e.g. a rug from Morocco, pillow covers from Mexico, and a tequila bar), a bookcase full of amazing reads; a dining room in which every piece tells a story (including a collection of gorgeous dishes, an art piece from her mother, and whimsical wall flowers hand-carried from Portugal); a dreamy kitchen full of unique touches (including a mural over the stove brought over from Portugal that’s insetted on a marble backsplash, red cabinets with matching granite, and a transitional island in the center); and an outdoor garden entertaining area that’s ideal for al fresco dining. And to top off this unforgettable visit, Rideau treats viewers to a cooking demonstration of her delicious guacamole!

Functional Meets Playful in Melanie Morris’s NYC Pied-à-Terre in Nolita | Open House TV

Functional Meets Playful in Melanie Morris's NYC Pied-à-Terre in Nolita | Open House TV

Welcome to interior designer Melanie Morris’s pied-à-terre in Nolita, which she shares with her husband and three teenage sons. This open-concept, functional home features earthy tones, furniture from the Kenmare collection (including an oatmeal-hued sofa, a dark stone coffee table, and a credenza with ambrosia maple tones and dark fluted wood that was designed specifically for the apartment), and a playful sense of design as best captured by the ceramic overhead light fixture in the dining room and the calming pop of color in the master suite (which includes ombre-glazed walls, a vintage light fixture from the 1960s, views of the World Trade Center, and soft, curved pieces with brass accents). Every space not only feels unique through unexpected touches & careful delineation (as evidenced by the rug from her Pop Collection that separates the living room into its own entity), but also allows its residents to remain connected to each other throughout the day.
