Full Episode: Renovated Classic Homes & Ultra-Modern Showstoppers | Open House TV

Sara Gore is back with another episode of Open House filled with stunning homes in New York City, Los Angeles, and Denver!

We kick things off with Brian Lewis at 123 West 132nd Street for a tour of a newly renovated historic brownstone located in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood. Built in 1910, this 5-bedroom home, situated in the vibrant area of Lenox Terrance, has since been re-envisioned in ways that have implemented modern conveniences to make it livable in the 21st century while also preserving its original details, stunning craftsmanship, and classic DNA — including keeping the antique front door to moving the kitchen (with its room marble countertops, dining bar, top-end fixtures trophy appliances, and gorgeous walnut cabinets) to the middle of the space to make the most of the natural light that streams in from the open-plan dining area. From the herringbone wood plank floors to the soaring tall ceilings to the new copper plumbing, and from the jaw-dropping, well-scaled primary suite (complete with a massive pass-through closet, decorative fireplace, dual-sinked bathroom, and treetop views) to the multiple guest rooms to the serene private garden right outside, this townhouse embodies beauty and seamlessly dovetails the past with the present.

Next, we fly over to the Mile High City, where Kenzie Robertson takes us on a tour of a home at 400 Saint Paul Street in Denver, Colorado, located within the highly desired Cherry Creek North neighborhood. Previously known as Harmon Town Hall, this 4-story house was constructed in 1891 and has since been converted into a mayor’s office, courthouse, and, ultimately, a show-stopping private residence filled with intricate details and modern upgrades. From the gorgeous entryway filled with natural light to the floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the 13,656 sq. ft. property that peer into a serene courtyard — and from the spacious primary suite complete with a sitting room office, luxurious bathroom, and adjoining terrace to the classic library designed as an homage to the Gilded Age with its reclaimed wood beams and vintages maps plastered on the ceiling (not to mention the home theater, full gym and custom landscaped rooftop terrace on the top floor, and sleek speakeasy carved into the underground garage) — this 4-bedroom, 8-bathroom red-bricked residence is truly a one-of-a-kind historical landmark with thoughtful renovations and upscale entertaining amenities.

After that, we head over to downtown NYC to join Jennifer Kalish for a tour of a stylish and comfortable Tribeca loft perched on a historic cobblestone street. This full-floor, south-facing apartment — reimagined by designer Shawn Henderson — has 4 bedrooms and close to 3,000 sq. ft. of boutique living. From the private entryway that you step into right off the elevator to a grand entertaining space with a clean-burning fireplace with a steel facade and a wall of Channel Vision glass windows that fill the room with natural light and offer beautiful views of the architecture outside of 15 Leonard Street Apt. 6, and from the chef’s kitchen complete with custom Italian matte white lacquer mixed with stained oak wood cabinetry (as well as top-end appliances) to the adjoining dining room that is ideal for intimate dinner gatherings, no detail has been spared in this meticulously designed home.

Care for a look around a home located at 1033 Somera Road in the prestigious Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles? Join the property’s developer, Ramtin Ray Nosrati, for a look around a decadent space surrounded by nature — which includes a lush living wall of fauna that adorns the private driveway, as well as a massive artwork of moss (that has been stained with organic fruit dye) that greets visitors in the foyer. Other highlights include: glass walls and automated floor-to-ceiling glass doors; a wraparound balcony with an L-shape fire pit and views of of the Pacific Ocean; a sprawling primary bath that features custom imported stone; an open-floor living room comprised of wide oak wood, a sleek fireplace clad in travertine, an exquisite wine cellar, and hand-carved stone bar; a dining room that peers into the spacious backyard; a state-of-the-art kitchen that serves as the heart of the home; an infinity-edge pool with a hot tub; and a nearly 3,200-square-foot roof deck equipped with an outdoor kitchen, 16-ft fireplace, entertainment viewing area, and 4-hole putting green. With its panoramic views of the city and ocean and 13,929 square feet of interior space, this 6-bedroom, 7-bathroom ultra-contemporary residence is filled with upscale amenities, imaginative architecture, and intricate design details.

Full Episode: The Best of California Living & Design | Open House TV

Full Episode: The Best of California Living & Design | Open House TV

Join Open House host Sara Gore for a look around some of the most stunning and luxurious homes in the sunny state of California.

First, we drop by a brand-new, amenity-rich estate in Bel Air, where we link up with Sally Forster Jones for a full tour. This symphonic, cinematic, and geometrically stunning 18,500 sq. ft. home, located at 1116 Chantilly Road, boasts 18,500 sq. ft. with 19 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and 5 half-baths — and in case that was not impressive enough, El Canto del Agua (its nickname which means “Song of the Water) with all its modern elegance, masterful craftsmanship using choice materials, and remarkable architectural beauty, was also inspired by art (including aspects of a Mayan pyramid) and exists in harmony with the natural Los Angeles fauna surrounding it. It also features a voluminous great room with a 30 ft. ceiling adorned with twinkling lights and views of a multi-tiered outdoor pool as its main focal points; an indoor cinema complete with stadium seating for up to twenty guests; a primary suite that offers a relaxing escape from the outside world with its centerpiece fireplace, ample space, and en-suite spa-inspired bathroom; a state-of-the art gourmand kitchen equipped with Italian cabinetry, a chef’s preparation galley, and two main islands topped with live-edge red wood imported from the tropical rainforests of Brazil; a grand family room that is ideal for intimate gatherings and entertaining guests, thanks in part to its large Venetian plaster bar and floor-to-ceiling glass wine cellar; a private gym (perfect for lifting weights and meditation) and a serene spa featuring a Roman bath; and a jaw-dropping backyard set against the picturesque hills with a patio area with lots of seating and a terraced waterfall pool that is a work of art in its own right.

We then join design duo Kevin Isbell and Gianantonio Corna at their 1920s Spanish colonial home in the heart of Los Angeles. After relocating from New York City, they were in search of a place that spoke to their personal aesthetic and embodied the vernacular that they associated with California. One of the main changes they made was to open the shutters by breaking up some of the expanse of the wood on them to allow natural light to pour through and also offer views of the beautiful blue sky and palm trees right outside the window. The house also features a whimsical kitchen with an indoor garden-inspired corner; a sleek dining space that includes an octagonal vintage table and a stunning gallery wall adorned with art; and a calming bedroom that embraces natural imagery with its floral touches.

After that, Mary Fitzgerald, one of the stars of the Netflix binge-worthy show “Selling Sunset,” shows us around a private Calabasas compound, owned by rapper French Montana (and previously owned by pop star Selena Gomez). This spacious residence mixes classic luxury with a playful ambience and is situated on three acres with over 8,600 square feet of impressive interiors. It also features an incredible dining room that’s perfect for hosting intimate dinner parties with its fireplace, dramatic chandelier, 20 ft. ceilings, and adjoining courtyard; an entertainment space with a pool table lounge area, terrace, and huge windows; an open-floor chef’s kitchen (complete with an oversized fridge and modern conveniences) that leads into an impressive living room; a sound-dampened home theater that’s ideal for watching movies and sporting events with friends and family; a private outdoor oasis with a cabana, pool, and wood-burning pizza station; and a guest house that includes a music studio.

Next up: We venture to 170 Spindrift Lane in Carmel, California to join Jonathan Spencer for a tour of the dramatic former hideaway of Kim Novak, star of Hitchcock’s classic “Vertigo.” This 1,866 sq. ft. oceanfront property, located on a 1.14 acre lot, features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathroom, as wells as breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. It also includes a golden granite stone exterior that’s meticulously stacked, a Bohemian-inspired living room with tall redwood ceilings, a green-granite fireplace, as well as stained glass windows and unique light fixtures that were commissioned by Novak back in the 1950s and ’60s; a beautiful kitchen that was remodeled in the 2000s with sleek granite countertops and high-end appliances; a primary suite with an attached bathroom; and a one-bedroom guest house that offers a front-row show to the rugged coastline right outside its windows.

Full Episode: Old World Charm Meets Contemporary Design in 5 NY & California Homes | Open House TV

Welcome to another episode of Open House. Get ready to join Sara Gore for a peek inside some 5 stunning and unique homes in NY and California, where classic meets the contemporary.

First up: Welcome to the West Village, where designer and professional stager Cheryl Eisen takes us on a tour of a historic brownstone townhouse with a modern flare at 75 Bedford Street. This New York City home boasts 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 4 wood-burning fireplaces, white oak floors, 18-ft ceilings, an abundance of natural light, and floor-to-ceiling French Doors on the first and second floor that open into a private backyard. Enjoy the natural light that pours in through the massive windows, while taking a glance through them to see the wondrous garden and viewing all that the area has to offer. Mix this with a private home theater, a magnificent bedroom, and a bathroom that incorporates the relaxation of a spa, and you’ve got yourself a one-of-a-kind home!

Next, we drop by the stunning home of CEO and founder of MarieBelle New York, Maribel Lieberman (along with her best furry friend Willow!) for an exclusive look around her luxurious Soho residence, where she’s lived for 34 years. Be transported back through time with the 19th century European-inspired design and take in all the sentimental wonders of her beautiful loft, including a hallway featuring abstract art created by her late husband. From the living room that features furniture that she acquired from the flea market and chandeliers manufactured in the Czech Republic, to the library that includes a piano played by her daughter and an old-fashioned marble fireplace from Italy, to a spacious kitchen where she whips up delicious concoctions (like her infamous hot chocolate), Maribel incorporates numerous old-world aspects (such as a staircase featuring cast-iron railings and black-and-white art) to create a space that exudes warmth, elegance, and plenty of charm.

After that, we zip over to the West Coast to join Lisa Kanegae, the founder and principle designer of LHK Interiors Design Studio in La Cañada, California (just north of Los Angeles), and her sweet puppy Brownie for a look around her newly renovated abode, which she designed herself and is as stylish as it is effortless. She begins in the living room where her high wooden beams add architectural interest and her DIY black accent herringbone wall provides an alluring organic contrast against the limestone in the room, as well as a dramatic moment in a traditional space. We then continue into the “heart of the home”: the kitchen! Lisa’s extraordinary talent for interior design, sparked a deeply elegant and bright place to cook — complete with stone porcelain walls, contemporary organizational hardware with a waterfall edge island, and gold-accented top lights. We also wander through the family, which is full of fresh air thanks to the sliding doors that allow for an indoor/outdoor living space. The house continues to amaze with private bedrooms, bathrooms, and Lisa’s very own personal closet that is perfectly organized.

We then meet up with Noble Black to explore an expansive penthouse located at the Mayfair at 610 Park Avenue! Relax and take in all the details about this 7,700 sq. ft. three-story gem that includes 1,400 sq. ft. of outdoor space with breathtaking views of NYC! This state-of-the-art triplex apartment features a spacious entry foyer, custom millwork, a functional kitchen with a cozy breakfast nook, a massive living room with views of Central Park, a great room with a wood-burning fireplace that’s adjacent to a classic library, and floors that serve a unique purpose. The bottom floor offers relaxing-yet-refined private bedrooms, while the main floor is perfect for hosting events, and the top terrace is wonderful for some fresh air with captivating views of the Midtown and Upper East Side skylines.

Last but not least, we visit a mid-century gem in Croton-on-Hudson that was renovated by architects Tal Schori and Rustam Mehta, who honored the home’s natural beauty and historic structure while bringing their client’s vision for seamless modern touches to life. With their specialty in dovetailing unique elements of the space with their personal design aesthetic, the designers used dark colors (including black window frames), red terracotta floors that provide radiant heat and stitch all elements of the home together, beams that track throughout the house, and purposeful positioning of furniture to ensure the house is integrated into the gorgeous Hudson landscape that surrounds it.
