Inside Laverne Cox's Glamorous Tribeca Apartment | Open House TV

It’s giving…glamour, efficiency, and a whole lot of creativity.

Explore the stunning studio apartment of Laverne Cox. And how’s this for a fun story? The actress and activist actually discovered her architect — Robert Garneau — while watching our show one day. Garneau specializes in imaginative solutions for small spaces and Laverne knew he’d be the perfect collaborator to help transform 634 sq ft of blank space into a welcoming Tribeca abode that exudes a sense of luxury and maximizes every nook and cranny to its fullest potential. From the fabulous kitchen with its ample storage options through customized walnut cabinetry with a brass inlay and gray tundra backsplash to a Mugler perfume fountain that functions as both a sprucing station and art piece to the relaxing bathroom with its dark green marble bathtub, sensual-yet-understated chandelier, and LED lighting system that you can adjust with a dimmer — and of course, the main living space that doubles as a dining room, and features a backlit onyx table that descends from the millwork, an exclusive closet for Laverne’s wigs, and a hidden “Murphy glam room” that is dotted with tiny sparkling lights reminiscent of diamonds — it’s safe to say: mission accomplished!

Ready for another full episode of Open House, hosted by Sara Gore? Get ready for five unforgettable home tours!

We kick things off at the stunning studio apartment of Laverne Cox.

After that, Kirsten Jordan takes us inside one of her favorite listings: the penthouse of 49 Chambers Heart. Located in the heart of prime Tribeca, at the top a Beaux-Arts building that was constructed in 1912 as the original Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank, this 3-bedroom home boasts 3,924 square feet of contemporary style, wide open spaces, hickory hardwood floors, a bonus study, and the luxuries of downtown living. Oh, and another fun fact? It is owned by the queen of Versaille.

Located 45 minutes outside of Los Angeles in Santa Rosa, this lovely California abode — the antithesis of the modern white box, with its natural stones, hand-finished textures, and casual elements — offers ample space and a more relaxed lifestyle across its five acres. We then drop by for a visit with Robert Ventolo, an interior designer with an aesthetic that leans into modern minimalism who enjoys simplifying people’s lives by helping create homes that are as functional as they are meaningful. Case in point? A highly personalized apartment he designed at the El Dorado in New York City that overlooks Central Park and embraces his client’s interest in dance, art, and quiet spaces to soak up the beautiful views right outside.

We finish this week’s tour at interior designer Kevin Klein’s charming, nearly century-old Los Angeles home, located right next to Griffith Park, that is full of natural light, character, and warm personal touches (including colorful plants from Plant Daddies, vintage light fixtures from Paris and Berlin, unique treasures from all his travel experiences shared with his wife, and framed drawings sketched by his sister).

Full Episode: 5 Luxurious Spaces that Teem with Glamour & Effortless Flow | Open House TV

Full Episode: 5 Luxurious Spaces that Teem with Glamour & Effortless Flow | Open House TV

Welcome to another episode of Open House, hosted by Sara Gore, as we explore five breathtaking homes packed with glamour and effortless flow across New York and California.

We kick things off at 1 Central Park South, PH2003/PH2009 aka the pinnacle (literally) of luxury living. This sumptuous home consists of two neighboring penthouses — a duplex and triplex — that have been combined for elevated level of grandeur, customized touches, and natural light! Located at the top of the historic Plaza Hotel in New York City, this luxurious 7-bedroom home spans 10,290 square feet and comes with a 110-ft terrace, its own private elevator, and offers a front row s eat to Central Park. Join agent Nikki Field for a full tour of this magnificent space — designed as an homage to over a century of luxury at the Plaza.

Up next? Raising a glass to the good life! Join the Garcia twins — wrestlers-turned-vintners Brie and Nikki (aka the Bella twins) — at their very own tasting room: Bonita Bonita speakeasy. Nestled in downtown Napa Valley, this stylish wine club — with its original artwork, vintage décor, and moody dark blue walls — is inspired by badass women, boasts over 600 members who enjoy gathering for a glass (or two) of natural sauvignon blanc and vibrant conversation, and celebrates the twins’ rich family history of farmers, visionaries, and artists. (And yes, for those of you wondering: a secret bookshelf is part of this one-of-a-kind experience.)

After that, we venture over to the Upper East Side to join designer and entrepreneur Patricia Voto — who’s the founder of the fashion brand ONE/OF — at her apartment and atelier on the Upper East Side. With an aesthetic that Voto describes as “romantic and a bit eclectic,” this home transports you to a scene in Paris the moment you step into the foyer with its gold mirror, floral rug, and console with the hand-painted flowers. Every surface in this apartment is either for flowers or for fashion — an ode to all the things that she loves — and that is evident throughout the home’s design fabric. ONE/OF only uses existing materials to create garments and Voto has carried that ethos into the layout of her home, including using a leftover piece of marble for a dining table. From the glamorous showroom that houses a mood board that outlines her creative ideas (and also functions as her dining area), to the inviting terrace right outside to the living space with its beveled mirror and antique pastry shelf from a French boulangerie, this residence is as stylish as it is thoughtful — a warm & welcoming New York home with European flair.

We then drop by 2150 Broadway (a unique building that blends into the neighborhood on a human scale) to join Jennifer Kalish for a peek around unit #PHA: an expansive penthouse that offers 4100 sq ft of contemporary luxury. This sophisticated space blends old-world charm with modern conveniences and is located right in the heart of the Upper West Side. With its picturesque wall of windows in the great room that offer phenomenal views of Central Park, Fifth Avenue, and the Manhattan skyline , a landscaped rooftop deck equipped with an outdoor kitchen and multiple lounging options, private Juliet balcony, and soaring 10-ft ceilings in the living room this 5-bedroom residence offers areas that are defined with a sense of purpose and is the perfect venue for hosting elegant summer soirees.

We complete this week’s episode at Lynn Stone’s home in Manhattan Beach. Despite living only blocks from the beach, the interior designer private residence is so lush in coziness, it’s hard to imagine anyone would ever want to leave the neutral tones of this ocean-inspired sanctuary. From the moment you walk in, a view of the shoreline through a beautiful bay window captures your gaze. And with natural elements guiding your way through the home, including a succulent wall as the kitchen’s backdrop, it’s easy to feel right at home.

Tour the Historic San Francisco Home of Third Eye Blind’s Stephan Jenkins | Open House TV

Tour the Historic San Francisco Home of Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins | Open House TV

🎶 And there’s a memory of a window. Looking through, I see you. 🎶

Thankfully, there will be no peering through windows in this Open House tour. Join us as we step inside the beautiful townhouse of Stephan Jenkins, lead singer of Third Eye Blind.

The award-winning producer, artist, and songwriter shows us around his beautiful historic residence located in the city’s vibrant Mission District — on the same block that Third Eye Blind filmed their very first video for the hit track “Semi-Charmed Life.” His residence, built in the 1870s, has been both a labor of love and testament to his design personality as he patiently has restored back to its former Italianate Victorian glory over the past decade. From the original wainscoting & surf-inspired graffiti art that immediately greets you upon entering through the door to the front parlor that exudes a sense of elevated connectivity with its cantilevered windows, Tiffany chandelier, and captivating paintings — including a piece (his favorite!) by his best friend and former bandmate Leo’s mother — Jenkins’ home — this townhouse teems with light, creativity, and interesting stories.

Other points of interest include: the split hallway & staircase (commonly known as “bowling alley flats); a Chewbacca couch in a room that feels like a warm hug in the dark, where he enjoys sitting and playing the guitar; a dining room, which happens to be his favorite room in the house, where he’s hosted lively dinner parties and features original 1870s plaster, an overly grand chandelier, an oak table with a brutalist vibe to it that he designed himself, and a framed photograph of a scuba diver with an octopus that was captured by oceanographer Jacques Cousteau; and a kitchen that is sleek and well-thought out with small portals that the construction crew punched in to allow in more natural light — and that leads directly into a serene backyard space that provides an ideal private forum for relaxation and entertaining guests.
