What happens when you trade your real estate for wheel-estate? This jaw-dropping transformation of an old school bus! Living, entertaining, and enjoying ever-changing views on a 1985 Crown Supercoach (aka “skoolie”) turned home doesn’t sound too shabby — especially after you step inside and see the stunning interiors, courtesy of a gut renovation by co-owners and designers Bradley Nott and Donalia Nott. The only thing that hasn’t changed much about it? It’s jovial yellow hue.
Upon discovering the 36 ft bus on Craiglist, the couple decided to take a chance and convert it into their dream mobile residence as they explore beautiful destinations together. Customizations for added comfort and livability include: a 14-ft roof raise, installation of RV windows, torpedo lights, and Atlas II Elite Air Ride seats that spin around and help counteract the effects of bumps in the road; open-concept shelves that double as bookcases and storage; a flexible living room with a large couch that accommodates guests by day and then transitions into a full-sized bed by night; a variety of lighting options to control the mood; a bathroom with a nice shower that features incorporated wood tile and natural stone; foldable furniture fashioned out of live edge black walnut with resin pour that Bradley and son fabricated themselves; and a relaxing bedroom retreat that provides incredible views to wake up to. And while the original steering wheel and front part of the bus largely have remained intact, they decided to personalize the space over the dashboard with an extra meaningful touch: stickers of favorite bands (#Deadheads), loved ones, and fellow “skoolies” that they’ve met along the way.
